INSPIRATION STATION

POSE-smallroom-1
Lets talk about your home! Shall I start? Okay... We all want to have a big, cosy house, right?
But not all of us is capable of buying - or renting - one.

I have a cute little - 60 square meters with an 8m2 attic - apartment in Amsterdam (de Pijp).
I always say De Pijp is a bit like Le Marais. Where do you live?!

I am (absolutely) not an interior expert. But I am an amazing internet spy though!
So thank the lord for Pinterest!

And what I was searching for is: 'how to make your home look bigger'. I found loads of tips and I thought,
why not sharing with you?! I will show my home when I used my own found tips ;)

Read my tips here in this post and follow me on Pinterest for more inspiration...

1. LIGHT IT UP!
The brighter the better. Your room will look big and peaceful.

2. MIRROR MIRROR ON (OR OFF) THE WALL.
Mirrors reflect, so its actually kinda logical it makes the space look bigger!
(Didn't knew this myself though… I'm searching for a big mirror right now!)

3. FLOATING.
Make sure to have as less furniture on the ground. Or like furniture with wheels.
As long as you can see the ground.

4. MAKE IT GIGANTIC.
Some say small furniture in a small room looks bigger. But think the opposite way!
Add some HUGE furniture like gigantic lamp or mirror.

5. HIGHER THAN THE SKY.
Curtains, closets, bookcases. Make them as long as you can. So your room will look higher.
(I have long curtains in my bedroom and I can tell you, that works!)

6. SMALL PRINTS OR PLAIN COLORS
For rugs or pillows go for small prints or plain colors. It will visually expand your room.
(I need a bigger rug!)

7. BE MULTIFUNCTIONAL.
It always more useful if you can use something for more multiple things. Think of a coffee
table that also can be used as a seating. (Like I have a poof with a big silver plate on it)

8. UNFOLD.
Choose for a dining table you can make smaller and bigger.
(I have one actually! So so handy.)

9. SEE THROUGH IT.
See through furniture is not only absolutely gorgeous. But it also looks like you have more space
in the room. (My glass dining table is one that works very good actually)

10. SLEEP IN YOUR WALK-IN CLOSET.
Every girl dreams of a walk in closet. But how cool is it to sleep in it?! Hang your clothes on
a rack instead of having a closet in your bedroom.
